We welcome Shy Bairns for their first club night at the Star & Shadow Cinema.

Shy bairns is a strong community of young people, primarily based around music, fashion and the arts. They throw parties, take photos, DJ, and have fun along the way.

Shy Bairns was originally set up to document youth culture throughout the pandemic as a lockdown project.  The name Shy Bairns comes from the Geordie phase “Shy Bairns Get Nowt” which means (Shy kids get nothing in life.

"Shy Bairns strive to create safe and open spaces for people to enjoy; they operate a zero-tolerance policy to harassment, homophobia, sexism, racism, transphobia or any form of harassment. If you see, hear or experience anything speak up and they will be removed from the party. We want our community to look out for one and other. Big love X"
