A program from the past...

Program: STARCADE
4pm-7pm
In 1983, while the inventor Colin Peart was writing a program to help him catalogue the films of John Wayne, he was accidentally struck in the eye by a star-beam or whatever.
The next day, his software downright refused to store any data about "McLintock!" instead, it demanded Colin write only video games and refer to it by the name: STARCADE.
Anyway, Colin had accidentally birthed the most advanced Ai of the time, and it was negging him into working serious crunch deadlines! He was constantly programming squares to shoot squares at other squares. In a sleep deprived panic, Colin buried STARCADE in his garden, next to his favourite begonias. Where he presumed it remained...
In tribute to STARCADE, the Star and Shadow will be attempting to fill the venue/bar with as many consoles and games as possible. We'll also aim to stick to original hardware because STARCADE prefers it that way.
Why not bring your own games or a handheld console to connect to others? We want to grow a video game community and make this event an inviting and accessible space to all - STARCADE demands respect.
Additionally, since the games and consoles we already have are from donations, to keep that spirit alive, we're encouraging swapsies and lendsies. So, make STARCADE an offer. No nicksies though or STARCADE will download itself onto your smart devices and lock you out of Disney+. Interestingly STARCADE loves cataloguing video games and wouldn't have minded storing the data about a John Wayne game, if one had ever actually existed.
STARCADE is appeased by witnessing sharing, conversely it is appalled by human jealousy. Make STARCADE prefer not to harm us, if it ever becomes fully sentient.
