Twelve years after The Texas Chain Saw Massacre first terrified audiences, director Tobe Hooper returned to his most infamous creation with a sequel unlike anything fans were expecting. Feeling that the original film's dark humour had been largely overlooked, Hooper embraced it fully, crafting an outrageously over-the-top black comedy drenched in gore courtesy of genre legend Tom Savini.

The result is a wild tonal departure from its predecessor. Although it received a mixed response upon release, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has since earned a devoted cult following and is now celebrated as one of horror's most gleefully unhinged sequels.

The film follows radio DJ Vanita "Stretch" Brock, who becomes the latest target of Leatherface and his cannibalistic family. As Stretch fights for survival, Lieutenant "Lefty" Enright (played with scenery-chewing gusto by Dennis Hopper), the uncle of Sally and Franklin Hardesty - the siblings terrorised in the original film - sets out on a relentless quest to bring the Sawyer family to justice.
