A talk show Food Sovereignty. With different guests each week.
This week 7th July 2020 we are talking to:
1. Rebecca Laughton from The Land Workers Alliance about fruit and veg growing in the UK, stigma attached to that type of work, obstacles to new entrants into horticulture farming and some hopefull polices and lobbying. https://landworkersalliance.org.uk/publications/
2. Shieldfield (our neighbours) resident Valerie Middleton about the veg growing and wheat growing projects in her neighbourhood. And sightings of the Shieldfield fox!
What is food sovereignty?
Food sovereignty allows communities control over the way food is produced, traded and consumed, rather than make large profits for multinational corporations and supermarkets.
Each week we will speak to people who campaign for food sovereignty. And to producers and growers in Newcastle Upon Tyne who are producing and selling fresh, healthy food that we can trust.
