Verisimilitudes: A Journey Through Art Song in Black, Brown, and Tan  is an award winning concert video that paints in song and image the multiple realities of Blackness while celebrating the genius of Black composers/lyricists who choose to craft song in the genre of classical art. A traditional white space where Blackness is forbidden, yet where it excels. Strangely, these musicians neither imitate nor appropriate. The quality - Euro constructed with an African soul - is sublime and uniquely their own. Until now, theirs were songs left to languish in the dust of musical archives. Until now... 

Quanda Johnson is a creative-maker whose practice celebrates global Blackness and asks the burning question "How can we see the 'Other' as ourselves?" Verisimilitudes is a fundraising event for her current project Rhythms Northside, a local and regional Black community focused and community generated theatrical event concert of ideas, artwork, presentation, and archive in North East Britain and York.
